ABOUT ME
Dennis Spence, PhD, CRNA, is the Chief Research Officer at the NBCRNA. He is an Adjunct Faculty in the Texas Wesleyan University DNAP where he teaches Evidence Based Practice and Applied Biostatistics, an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences Graduate School of Nursing, and a per diem CRNA Baylor, Scott and White Medical Center in Temple, TX. On September 1, 2020 he retired from the Navy as a Captain with 28 years of service. Dr. Spence is the former Phase II Research Director for the Navy Nurse Corps Anesthesia Program at Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD), IRB Chair at NMCSD, and former member of the Board of Directors for the NBCRNA. His research interests include credentialing research, obstetrical anesthesia, and patient safety. He has been married for 24 years to his wife Melissa, and they have two daughters, Mackenzie (22), and Katy (20). Dr. Spence resides in Austin, TX.
